Need convincing? Here’s some food for thought…

The Nobel Peace Prize 2020 was awarded to World Food Programme (WFP) “for its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.”

We are indeed facing a global scale problem, how to feed 1 billion people who do not get enough to eat on a daily basis. And this issue is getting bigger, with 10 billion people to feed by 2050. We need to increase 70% our food production to feed the entire world population, and we need to do it with the planet in mind.

So… why crickets? Because they are the most sustainable and eco-friendly protein source available!

Crickets consume almost 3000 times less greenhouse emissions than the same amount of beef. Also 12 times less feed, 200 times less land and 20000 times less water. Even comparing to a plant-based food such as soy, crickets reduce in half the amount of water needed to produce the same amount of protein. Some numbers to look at:

Welcome to the food of the future.
